Ty......Well said. Connor McDavid is a pretty tasty skittle though!

In all seriousness, I agree with your point. If there is anything the playoffs have shown hockey fans it is that anything can happen. (Case and point game seven vs. the leafs a couple of years back, how many really had them pegged to win that game halfway through the third period).

Love your passion for the B's. And pretty much everything you write on here. For that reason alone, I WOULD TOTALLY GO TO PROM WITH YOU!!!! ( and I mean that in a completely non-homosexual bromance kind of way).

Awesome blog, Ty, very well written.

I agree, wholeheartedly, that losing to get closer to the draft position is asinine. I HATE what, for example, Buffalo is doing.

I also think dismissing PC and Claude is a mistake. We have stability and don't need to change that after 1 bad season. If it's a running total of bad seasons, I understand, but after 1 with all the success we've had.... That's a knee jerk reaction that could set them 2 steps back....

I think the people hoping for McEichel are just dumb and should punched in the face.

I still believe Chiarelli should be fired, but Claude should not be.

Am no advocate whatsoever for keeping "Harvard" employed at the end of the season. But even if you fire him, his NTC's don't go away when he goes, which IMO is really what's hurting this cap crunched team right now.

Wherever he lands I'm sure he'll be glad to trade for Reilly Smith. Maybe he'll get some of old Ottawa pals there too.

I'm not really sure. I liked him when he was here. I bet he could fill Hamilton's spot. He's going to need some money.

Ty, regarding chara...
He's been getting slower even before the knee injury. He's a couple of years away from being that intimidating shut down D man he once was, and he's clearly even worse since coming back from the knee injury. Have they had bad luck? sure, but every team has bad luck. You make your luck. They went all in last year, and now they're paying the price. Whose responsible for that? Who stocked the roster with only 3 legit Dman? People can try to blame clode, and they also can try to spray paint dog poop and tell you its ice cream.

Well Ty, I utterly disagree with you in regards to the overall direction of this team.

I will be watching and rooting for them, but at some point you kinda have to belive your eyes and not your heart.

The scary part is that many people are STILL overvaluing many players on this team and that is how mediocracy sets in on a sports team. Being mediocre is worse than being at the bottom of a league or the top, as you don't win championship and you don't win lotteries.

But I guess I will be hoping for that invisible force field to help put us over the top.

FYI........is it me or are the point and goal totals waaaaay down from years past?

Only 9 guys with 30 goals and there may not be a guy with 100 points......hell even 90 points?

That's kinda crazy!

Either the whole league has become more defensive or the goalies have been magicians!

EDIT.....was thinking about it. Maybe the advance stats variable is morphing the NHL a little bit and turning the NHL into a more X's and O's type sport like football.....ugh

Joe Haggerty @HackswithHaggs
Milan Lucic just took brief nutty swinging & breaking his stick off post while angrily swearing in direction of Matt Bartkowski. Good times

Funny, Lucic makes me feel the same way...

Goalies are so big and athletic combined with the fact that almost every player blocks shots now. It's no wonder scoring is down.
